Motorcycle Lane Filtering now legal in the State of Utah.
The State of Utah passed bill 149 Lane Filtering making it legal for motorcycles to filter or move between stopped vehicles under certain conditions. According to the U.S. Department of Public Safety in 2016 nearly 54% of distracted driving crashes were rear end crashes. This is designed to give riders a safety pocket while they are stopped at a roadway. This will reduce motorcycle injuries crashes and fatalities across the State of Utah.I think that same reasoning is applicable here in Canada, and I think we need to pressure our Member's of Parliament to consider motorcycle safety, in addition to easing congestion on our roads.
